Sage Live™ is the monitoring platform that ships standard with every Sage central battery system. Monthly and annual NFPA self-tests run unattended and log themselves. Faults email the facility team the moment they raise, naming the circuit, the zone, and the cabinet. Service teams walk one circuit, not the whole building. The compliance record is there when the AHJ asks for it.

What it is

Monitoring, standard with the system.

Every Sage central battery cabinet tests itself on a 28-day cycle and grades four categories, battery, charger, load, and transfer relay. The monthly 30-second check and the annual 90-minute full burn run on schedule without anyone attending them, and every result, every fault, and every charger event writes into a date-stamped record. Faults email the facility team the moment they raise. The record lives in the Sage Live™ dashboard.

Nothing additional to install and nothing to license. Sage Live™ is not a tier, it ships with the system. The dashboard is Sage's own platform. Sign in with Google or Microsoft, or a one-time email link, and see the whole building at a glance, test records, fault alerts, and the record behind every result.

The record

Eleven monthly tests and one annual, logged as they happen.

NFPA 101 section 7.9 requires a monthly 30-second function test and an annual 90-minute full burn on every emergency lighting unit. With battery packs, that is twelve compliance events per fixture per year, tracked on paper. Sage runs the whole cadence from the cabinet.

30-second self-test

The cabinet transfers to battery for 30 seconds, confirms the transfer and the emergency load, and logs the result with its date. No walk-through and no clipboard.

Annual

90-minute full-burn

Scheduled in advance and run unattended on the scheduled date. The result writes into the record. A battery that is drifting has already been flagged on the 28-day cycle before the annual test reaches it.

The cabinet exercises and grades all four categories on a rolling 28-day cycle, the same four verdicts the dashboard reports. A drift in any one becomes a fault notification before it becomes a failure.

Circuit-level fault detection

Service teams walk one circuit. Not the whole building.

When a fault raises, the cabinet emails the facility team immediately. The notification names what failed, the circuit, the zone, the cabinet, and the time.

Because Sage engineers the layout, the submittal package already documents every emergency fixture on that circuit by location. The fault narrows the search to the handful of fixtures on one run instead of a building-wide sweep. That pairing is the part no competitor can copy: it needs the design and the monitoring to come from the same place.

Compare to the integral-battery-pack flow: nobody knows a fixture has failed until either (a) the monthly walk-through catches it weeks later, or (b) an occupant notices a dark fixture during egress. Either way, the next step is a ladder-and-multimeter visit to localize the problem.

How it fits the system

The cabinet reports. The design package names the fixtures.

Sage Live™ is the monitoring layer of the Sage system and it does not install separately. The cabinet carries the controller and the diagnostics, and the included local circuit monitor reports each branch. Monitoring reports at the circuit. The submittal package documents every emergency fixture on every circuit by location, so a circuit fault is a short list of fixtures, not a search.

No additional gateway is required, and the system does not depend on a building automation system. Optional integration with a building management system is available through the Sage Live™ API.

The dashboard is Sage's own platform, not a mock. The walkthrough shows it with demo data on the 42,000 square foot reference design, 87 relay-converted emergency fixtures and 24 exit signs fed from 2 Keystone cabinets, each with its included local circuit monitor.
