Our team produces the design package: fixture layout, relay selection, central battery placement, wiring, load schedule, code-compliance check. You review and submit, and move on to the other demanding aspects of your project.

Every project we are sent gets its own photometric study computed on the actual building: egress light levels point by point, emergency fixtures placed where the numbers call for them, then the layout, the low voltage wiring, and the bill of materials back to you. Designed per building, not estimated by rule of thumb.

The study behind the design

Computed on your building, not scaled off someone else's.

The photometric study is the part of this that is hard to fake. Sage runs an AGi32 point-by-point analysis on the plan you send: real room geometry, real reflectances, real mounting heights. The fixture count falls out of the light levels the path of egress needs, and the cabinet is sized to that count. It is why the number we hand back is defensible in front of an AHJ instead of a rule of thumb someone has to take on faith. Every branch circuit is designed on 12 AWG MC cable, with no per-run gauge sizing. When a run or a load needs more, the design adds a cabinet.

What we read
The plan as drawn

Room geometry, ceiling and mounting heights, and the surface reflectances that decide how much of each fixture's output reaches the floor. Egress paths are traced on the plan, not assumed.

What we compute
Point by point, on the path

An AGi32 analysis returns the illuminance at every point on the egress path, checked against the 1 foot-candle average and the 40 to 1 uniformity ratio NFPA 101 requires.

What falls out
The count, then the cabinet

Fixture placement comes from the light levels, the Relay variant comes from each host fixture, and the cabinet is sized to the emergency load those choices add up to. Nothing is picked first and justified after.

A worked example

On the 42,000 square foot reference design, the study placed 87 emergency fixtures and 24 exit signs against the egress paths. The same building done with integral battery packs carries 111 battery locations to test and service. The study is what turns that into 2 cabinets. Your building will give its own numbers, computed the same way.

Send it either way

You do not have to be specifying Sage to send us a project.

Send any project and Sage engineering analyses it, whether or not Sage is getting the spec. A layout, a fixture schedule, a set of drawings: the answer comes back either way. If the right call on your building is something other than Sage, that is a useful thing for you to know early, and it costs you a file transfer to find out.
